Child protection is at the heart of our ethos and underpins every decision we make for the children in our care. We are deeply committed to giving each child the best possible start in life and to enriching their early years experiences in meaningful, nurturing and positive ways.
The happiness, wellbeing and safety of every child is our highest priority. Guided by robust frameworks and clear professional guidance, we work diligently to ensure that each child’s safety, health and welfare are protected throughout their time with us.
This Child Protection Policy has been developed to support parents, carers and staff by clearly outlining our shared responsibility to safeguard children from all forms of abuse. It provides guidance on recognising concerns, responding appropriately, and taking timely action to protect children and support them to be safe.
In Scotland, we are supported by strong legal and professional frameworks that uphold children’s rights and promote their wellbeing. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) are central to our practice and guide us in navigating safeguarding matters with care, respect and professionalism.
