The Care Inspectorate support and understand and value the effect that animals can have on children. Their resource "Animal Magic" celebrates the amazing impact that being around our animals and caring for them has on children.
Spending our days on a working dairy farm will offer children invaluable experiences and learning opportunities.
It is our hope that over time we will create a mini farm for our children to enjoy. Here they can safely interact and take care of their own animals. To get us started, we have chickens to feed and collect fresh eggs from everyday.
Our kittens teach the children about empathy and patience, they begin to understand the skills which are needed to form new relationships .
Our kittens also offer affection and companionship, allowing certain children to engage in a dialog we don't always see with other children or adults. This can be due to the calming and non-judgemental nature of animals.
Not only does our adorable pup offer endless energy and huge amounts of fun, he also offers the children a chance to learn the responsibility involved in owning a pet. Charlie needs food, water and lots of long walks, our children are involved in all of these tasks.
Our beautiful bunnies offer a multitude of benefits to the children. They are calming to watch as they explore their run, some of the children will sit by the hutch for a while or enjoy feeding them the occasional carrot.
Our most recent addition to the pack is Freddie, our cute as a Button lamb. The children have been involved in feeding and watching him grow and he now has a forever home in the field across from nursery gate so they can see him everyday.
